A year ago, our first customer went live talking to their SAP Business One system with AI. They asked questions in plain English and got answers from live SAP data in seconds. That was the start of TEKAI.
This week, two things came together. TEKAI turned one. And OpenAI launched dots in ChatGPT: always-on AI agents that keep working for you, even when you’re not chatting with them. Put the two together and something changes. TEKAI no longer just answers questions about your SAP Business One system. It carries the workload.
For most of its first year, TEKAI did one job very well: you asked, it answered. Sales by customer, overdue invoices, stock positions, all straight from live SAP Business One data, with no reports to build and no exports to clean.
But the real work in a business isn’t asking questions. It’s watching. Someone has to notice the sales order with a discount nobody approved, the supplier invoice posted without a purchase order, the cash expense that’s bigger than it should be. In most companies, that watching happens late, if it happens at all.
That’s the work we wanted to hand over.
Dots are OpenAI’s new always-on agents inside ChatGPT. A dot keeps working when you’re not in the conversation and can reach you in ChatGPT, Slack or Microsoft Teams. On its own, a dot doesn’t know your business. Connected to SAP Business One through TEKAI, it can watch your system and report on it.
In the video, I give my dot one instruction in plain English. Using TEKAI, it checks the SAP Business One demo company every 60 minutes and alerts me in Microsoft Teams for new documents that break any of three rules:
Every morning at 9 AM, it also sends a summary of customers with invoices more than 90 days overdue, and alerts me during the day if a new customer crosses 90 days.
Before anything runs, the dot confirms which company it’s connected to, checks the currency, and verifies the Teams recipient. Then it activates the schedules. I trigger one check immediately, and the alerts arrive in Teams. Each one shows the document number, the business partner, the amount, the user who created it, and why it was flagged. At the end, I ask for a PDF of the overdue customer summary, ready to share.
Your team doesn’t open SAP to find problems. The problems come to them.
TEKAI is read-only by design. It reads your SAP Business One data to watch, check and report, but it doesn’t change it. That’s what makes it safe to hand over the monitoring: the agent carries the workload of watching, and your people stay in control of every decision.
Year one proved that business owners and finance teams want to talk to their SAP Business One data. Year two is about handing over the routine work around it: the checks, the follow-ups, the morning summaries. The rules in this demo are just examples. The same approach works for stock, purchasing, production and collections, using your own thresholds and your own words.
One year of TEKAI, and we’re just getting started.
TEKAI is TEKROI’s AI product for SAP Business One. It connects AI assistants to live SAP Business One data so you can ask questions, get answers and now automate routine checks, all in plain English.
Dots are always-on AI agents that OpenAI launched in ChatGPT in late September 2026. They keep working when you’re not chatting with them and can reach you in ChatGPT, Slack or Microsoft Teams. They’re currently available on ChatGPT Pro and Business Premium plans in eligible markets.
No. TEKAI is read-only. It reads your data to answer, check and report, but it doesn’t post or change documents.
The demo uses the SAP Business One demo company. The same setup works on your own SAP Business One system.
